Dr. Amanda Shaffner-Vanderstelt grew up in Louisville, KY where she attended private undergraduate school at Bellarmine University and then the University of Louisville for her Doctorate in Dental Medicine, graduating at the top of her class.
Knowing she wanted to specialize in high end orthodontics, she pursued an Advanced Education in General Dental (AEGD) Residency to gain experience in more complex general dentistry and oral surgery prior to starting her orthodontic residency. Immediately after the AEGD residency, Dr. Shaffner-Vanderstelt completed her Orthodontic Specialty Residency here in Denver at the University of Colorado. All of these experiences have shaped Dr. Shaffner-Vanderstelt’s interdisciplinary orthodontic approach.
Dr. Shaffner-Vanderstelt prides herself with attention to detail, a modern and efficient approach, and gentle care towards achieving amazing smiles and bites. She utilizes the modern self-ligating Damon bracket system with clear esthetic options and the modern Invisalign Aligners. She is very passionate about orthodontics and therefore actively pursues any quality CE course and conference that furthers her ability to deliver high quality orthodontics. She is currently doing an Aligner Intensive Fellowship for more complex Invisalign cases.
In her time away from the office, Dr. Shaffner-Vanderstelt enjoys being a new mom to a baby boy and going on adventures with her husband and two dogs. She is a self-proclaimed foodie and loves to try new restaurants.
